From May, 19th-23rd the XXVIIIth International Symposium on Bioelectrochemistry and Bioenergetics of the Bioelectrochemical Society took place in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), Spain. Marina Espejo presented a poster on the topic „Effect of pretreated carbon fiber brushes in a single chamber microbial electrolysis cell“ in the research field „Biobased energy production and storage“ and Stefanie Feilner held a presentation on „CFD simulation to optimize flow dynamics in a single chamber bioelectrochemically improved anaerobic digester“. The conference, which is organised by the Bioelectrochemical Society every two years focusses on bioelectrochemistry inbetween chemistry, physics and biology.
