Research at the Chair of Energy Process Engeneering
The rapidly advancing climate change and the increasing dependence of Europe on fossil fuels from the crisis regions of the world require the conversion of the energy industry to renewable energies and CO2-free power plant technologies.
Our research work combines experimental work on experimental plants with thermal power up to 100 kW with the modeling and simulation of real thermal processes. The focus is on the “proof-of-concept” for new ideas and innovative technologies – without losing sight of their social relevance and energy-economic aspects.
We focus on our three working groups Thermochemical Conversion and Chemical Energy Storage, Thermal Storage Systems and Carbon Capture, as well as Energy Systems and Energy Economics.
The junior professorship for decentralized energy process engineering addresses bioelectrocatalytic power generation, waste-to-energy processes and bioelectrosynthesis.
